Magnetic jewelry clasp component for use in jewelry-making, repair, or adaptation projects.

DEMIKA®

Magnetic closure reduces the fine-motor dexterity, finger strength, and precision typically required to operate small traditional jewelry clasps. The larger rectangular clasp body also provides a more substantial area to grasp, helping make compatible necklaces or bracelets easier to fasten and remove. This clasp is intended to be incorporated into finished jewelry by a jeweler or jewelry maker.

Material Education:

14K Gold: 14K gold is a precious-metal alloy containing 58.5% pure gold blended with other metals to improve strength and durability for everyday jewelry use.

Yellow Gold vs. White Gold: Yellow gold keeps the traditional warm gold color, while white gold is alloyed to create a cooler, silvery appearance. White gold may also be rhodium finished depending on the component.

Solid Gold: Unlike gold-filled, vermeil, or plated jewelry, solid 14K gold is gold alloy throughout the gold portion of the clasp rather than a thin surface layer over another metal.

Care: Solid gold is durable, but it can still scratch or develop surface wear over time. Gentle cleaning with a soft cloth and appropriate jewelry cleaner will help maintain its finish.

I wish this wasn't so expensive for the 14k version. Have ordered the gold-plated one in the past and the plating doesn't last very long. I love the magnetic clasps for my daily wear necklaces, but hate that the inexpensive plating doesn't last.
